Georgette Popa, fondatrice e direttrice artistica dell'orchestra è un ex professoressa di violino al Conservatorio Superiore di Musica di Lione in Francia. Ha insegnato violino presso i College Saddleback e Concordia, entrambi nella California del Sud e si è largamente esibita in Europa e negli Stati Uniti. La sua intensa carriera musicale include inoltre numerose registrazioni di colonne sonore di film e programmi televisivi. Detiene una laurea in Musica e Spettacolo conseguita presso l'Università G. Dima a Cluj-Napoca in Romania e un diploma conseguito presso il Conservatorio di Musica di Parigi, in Francia.

The Irvine Classical Players Orchestra are pleased to announce their second International Concert Tour. Founded in 2003, the ensemble's first concert tour in summer 2004, included concerts in the Brittany and Normandy regions of France at such historic places as l'Abbey de Lehon, Mont Saint Michel and the Fortress City of Saint Malo. The orchestra earned critical acclaim for their performances on this tour and were enthusiastically received by French concertgoers. The orchestra was founded by Professor Georgette Popa to offer her outstanding violin students the opportunity to perform chamber music and as soloists. The ensemble includes students from a number of the finest private music studios in Southern California. Although the orchestra includes standard chamber orchestra works in its repertoire, the goal is to feature each member as soloist. The average age of these outstanding young musicians is 14, and the membership reflects the rich cultural diversity of Southern California.

Mark Leycock - Principal Conductor of the orchestra holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music History and Literature from the University of Southern California, a Master's Degree in Instrumental Conducting from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and the Doctor of Arts Degree in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Northern Colorado.
